I first met Sandy at a political meeting in October. We hit if off right away. She came to hear me stump for the East Valley Tea Party's endorsement for my congressional bid. Her words of advice and encouragement have stayed with me. She was one of the first to believe in me when other's doubted and contributed to my campaign even when it wasn't financially convenient for her to. If she questioned something, she wouldn't assume but went right to the source and got to the bottom of things. She was an excellent judge of character and a tireless protector of our freedoms.
I was touched deeply by her life in such a short time and by her funeral. Thank you Doty's for sharing her with us.
As J.D Hayworth alluded to, God has a work for her to do on his side.

Our Sun Lakes Republican "family" has lost a very special
lady. Her loss will be felt more and more each day as we strive to remove the incumbents from Wash. She was a tireless worker who inspired me to get off my duff and put my money where my mouth was.
I am sure half of our new P.C.'s will say the same thing.
If I had not run into her and Gordon at Cottonwood that Sat afternoon both Ray and I would be still saying "somebody should do something about what is happening in this country". After talking to Sandy for just a few minutes she had me signed up as a PC and my husband (who never joins anything) making calls for the Republican Club.
I hope and pray that Sandy will continue to look down on us, from her heavenly reward, that we can continue the job she has done so well.
Rest in Peace from a job well done....
God Bless,
Ray and Dee Bertsch

I knew the Dotys while in High School in Berlin and Michelle was my best friend. Needless to say I spent countless hours at the Doty house and loved being there - Mrs. Doty made it so much fun and welcoming. To the Doty family - you are in my prayers for peace during this time. Michelle -- she was an amazing mother who raised an outstanding daughter -- you are doing the same! Love you!

Sandy fought the good fight for our rights, for our freedom. I will be thinking about her every time I go to a tea party, rally, town hall meeting because her spirit will be forever present in those venues, where she fought the good fight. -kim

Sandy was a genuine warrior who worked tirelessly. Her goodness always brightened everything around her. She put us all to shame, and yet never judged our shortcomings. She cannot be replaced in our hearts or in our ranks. We may never know why God pulled her out of this fight for our country, but we must continue even more determined in her absence. Sandy would have wanted it that way.

What a shock to learn of Sandy's passing. She was so knowledgable in what is going on in our country and I learned so much from her. She will be sorely missed. God bless her family during this difficult time. Marilyn Marian-Wiebe

Sandy was always helping with all she could and with all she knew. She was everywhere and with everyone. I feel so priviledged to have sat next to her at the last EGC meeting and listen as she gave the Prayer for our meeting. Never have I seen anyone work harder than Sandy . May God bless her and her family as she finds her resting place in Heaven.

Dear Doty Family,
I just wanted to say that the Doty family was always so kind and supportive-- great to be around, and made life a lot more fun! I remember early morning seminary in your living room in Berlin, and breakfasts on Fridays. Those were happy times for me. I am sorry your mom is gone. I hope God blesses all of you.

I first met Sandy when I attended a quilt group. She was so welcoming and friendly. Shortly thereafter we moved to a home and was delighted to find out she was our neighbor. She was one of the first to come over to welcome us. To our surprise, even though we were renting the home at the time, she wanted to invite us over for a bbq to meet the other neighbors. What a delightful evening. Over the two years we lived there before we bought our home, we spent time getting to know her and saw firsthand her passion for her country. We also saw her love and concern for her family and her precious pets. What a special lady. Our prayers are with you Quet and family.

I didn't know Sandy personally, but have worked closely with Lauren Hill, her daughter, these past years. Lauren spoke often of their involvement in the Republican party and how her mother had influenced her to be a responsible and active citizen throughout her lifetime. My deepest sympathy to the entire family for your loss.

I met Sandy over 30 years ago. The Sandy I knew was very classy as well as being very compassionate towards others. If there was some unjustice going on, she was in the middle of it. She was the voice for others. She was not afraid to speak her mind, and others listened. I was so impressed with the way she stood up to others. She was very brave. She didn't just talk about it, she took action. She put herself out there regardless of what others said. She was my example and hero. There are very few individuals in our world who truly stand for justice. She was an honorable women who was sent to earth for a reason. I'm just sorry that her life wasn't extended a little longer. She will be greatly missed, and I'm glad that I had the priviledge of knowing her.

I N M E M O R I U M
FOR SANDRA LOUISE STEVENS DOTY
BY QUETZAL DOTY
HUSBAND AND BEST FRIEND
I have known Sandy since January 1, 1963, and have been married to her since June 15, 1963. I loved her from the very minute that I met her and we came to be great friends over the past 47 years.
Sandy has always shown the highest degree of integrity. Her heart went out to those in dire need. She always had a spare hand to help a friend and a foot too if needed.
Sandy was a wonderful, caring Mother for my two children and our three. She felt that Motherhood was the highest calling she could attain. Sandy became a political activist and Conservative maven only after the children were grown and we were both retired.
There is a hole in my life and I doubt it can be filled!!!!!

I met Sandy last spring when I volunteered to be a PC. Sandy was very inspirational and encouraging. She loved our County and was very eager to serve. She was an excellent role model for me and always available to answer my questions. The world was definitely a better place because of Sandy's dedication to be involved. She will be greatly missed.

The first time I meet Sandy, she was applying for a job at the then AlliedSignal and I was interviewing her. I was immediately drawn to Sandy on many levels. A lovely thing I learned was that Sandy was also a neighbor in Sun Lakes! Sandy got the job, and I found a new friend. We so admired Sandy. She got out there and said and did the things (politically) that we felt. I know the direction our country is taking stressed Sandy, but she got out there and did something about it. Sandy inspired me in the last year to start doing the same on a smaller scale. You'll be missed, but never forgotten, Sandy. You were an inspiration on so many levels!

When I first became a precinct committeeman for Sossaman Estates, it was rather overwhelming and there was no formal training class in place at that time. But Sandy Doty was always there to answer any questions that I had, and to direct me where to go and who to see. She kept me apraised via e-mail of all the upcoming political events and important news, and connected me with some of the current AZ legislators.
Sandy gave me inspiration and hope for our Republican party through her actions and her prayers. I will always remember her smiling face, her compassion and willingness to help others. Thank you Sandy, for all that you have done; for being an outstanding citizen in the community. And thank you for who you were; a person of strong conservative beliefs and a faifthful family member of God.
May you rest in peace!

Thanks Sandy for your inspiration and determination to make our Country and lives better. You were an example to me and countless others. The momentum you created will propel the causes you fought for into the future for the blessing and benefit of countless future generations. Your earthly deeds will be recognized as you are welcomed into Gods arms, And may God watch over and care for your family, while you are apart.

I will miss our dear friend Sandy and her tireless efforts to serve God, Family and Country. On many occassions, Sandy and I discussed our shared conservative values and the need to elect candidates of good character. Though she is now in heaven, those of us whose lives she touched, have been inspired to carry on her good work. Sandy, you can count on me to do my best to make you proud. God's comfort to you Quetzal and your family.

We.will certainly miss her kind voice with her information, instruction and complete lessons on politics which she loved. Our constitution, our country, our freedom were so precious to her. We became so aware of our local politics through Sandy and we will always remember her in such a special way.

What a shock! What can we say about Sandy that has not already been said by all. She did most of the dirty work
when we were on the border, and insisted that we return the
house better than we found it. Her photos from the weekend
protests were wonderful. Sandy was always cheerful, dependable, and very patriotic. There are not enough words to describe Sandy. We will miss you friend.

I had the privilege of having lunch with Sandy at the Poolside Cafe in Oakwood on Wednesday, April 7. She was showing me how to become an elected PC, and we were getting together to discuss AZ politics. Sandy ordered the Cobb Salad, and we spent a couple hours together. Much of our conversation also centered on health issues (since that is part of my expertise), and especially on Sandy's concern for Kevin. I offered some suggestions, and we planned for me to bring some products for Kevin to the Lincoln Day lunch on Saturday. Imagine my shock to discover on Saturday that Sandy had passed away just two days before!
Sandy was an inspiration to me, and to so many others. She had such a servant's heart and was such a hard working, intelligent, and knowledgeable person. She was always trying to make a difference in the lives of others, and to make the world a better place. She made me feel welcome at my first SLGOP meeting, and was so inclusive to newcomers. She took me to my first District 21 meeting, too.
I will greatly miss Sandy, and I have only known her for a few months! I can't imagine the loss that you all must be feeling!
When JD Hayworth suggested on Saturday that a special award be instituted in Sandy's memory, called the "Cheerful Persistence" Award, I can only say Bravo! I wholeheartedly agree.
Please accept my deepest sympathy and love....

Sandy is someone that made a positive difference in my life. She worked hard because she was passionate about saving our Country and set a positive example for all of us to strive toward. I served on the Republican Party Executive Guidance Committee with Sandy. When I ran for office, she drove across town from Sun Lakes to Sun City to help me. I will never forget it and I will never forget Sandy.

We met shortly after the 2008 election. Together with my fears for our country and thoughts on how to fight back, Sandy invited me to her home for a meeting and an opportunity to express my thoughts. A week later she convinced me to stand for the Chairmanship of the Republican Club. In the months and trials since that first meeting, she stood by me, coaxing, advising, and assisting me in countless ways. We shared our love of country, our solid believe in our God and in the principles passed on by our Founders. We shared a zeal to help our community and state to be lead by the best men and women we could elect. Sandy was always there with an idea, a suggestion and just to listen. Now the mentor is gone but the shared believes and memories are very much alive. Thank you Sandy. You are irreplaceable and sorely missed.

I first met Sandy in the Sun Lakes Quilt Club. She was so energetic--always setting up trips etc. we went to her house and boxed up a mountain of gifts for the service people. Then I ran into her again at the republican meeting.
She is one in a million and will be missed by all.

Through cheerful persistence Sandy was an amazingly positive force wherever she ventured. The "ripple effect" of her tireless efforts to promote and safeguard our God-given personal freedoms protected by our U.S. Constitution have reached around the world.
My first encounter with Sandy was several years ago at a meeting of the Sun Lakes Republican Club when she was its president. I was impressed when she opened the evening's program with a Constitutional minute. Then month after month I observed her passionate patriotism, intelligence, knowledge, expertise, wisdom, activism, creativity, and caring nature. What a remarkable person with an extraordinary legacy!
Those of us who interacted with Sandy were truly blessed to have her as a mentor and friend. Words cannot convey the depth of our grief and loss.
With heartfelt sympathy for Quet and her family. May God bless them and God bless America.

GOD'S SPEED SANDY AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS.

We have never met anyone as dedicated to preserve our Constitution rights. She did this by being tough but gentle the steel fist in the velvet glove approach. She spent endless hours in the Conservative effort and encouraged others to participate with her. She was always there for others even when she was overloaded in her own life. She was the greatest example of do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It is hard to believe that she is gone. She will be greatly missed.

Never have I known any one who worked harder, more dedicated and professional than was Sandy. And, never have I known a person who appeared to bare her "bumps" in life never complaining or criticizing but continually exuding her kindness and love for people and purposes important to her. She was an inspiration, a leader and a great example of a wonderful human being. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family in this very sad time.
